The Silver Button Reviews
I wasn't crazy about the idea of this book, but thought the pictures were engaging and needed some longer bedtime books because the board books we have weren't cutting it... But I have fallen in love!! The detail, the variety, it is just a great little book about how complex life is even when it can be so simple... The detail in the illustrations is so neat!
My 3-1/2 year old granddaughter has asked for this book again and again. I love sharing a book with a child that engages both of us, as this one did, and does. It has it all, in my view-- intriguing new concepts to ponder ("All this could happen at the same time??"), served up with subtle charm and a bit of whimsey. It's a simple story that puts a smile on our faces, again and again. If you like Bob Graham, be sure to check out his "How to Heal a Broken Wing." Another winner.
Spoiler alert--! Read the book and look at the pictures first before reading this review!
I discovered this book at our local library, and my toddler and I are both in love with it.
The Silver Button tells a panoramic story of a single minute worth of happenings over a town. An interesting picture book that shows how small yet enormous each person's life is.
