My great-granddaughter wasn't going to be able to wear her special pirate costume to school because all costumes had to be from a storybook. So we took to Amazon and found this delightful storybook. She loved Eloise and the story! How perfect. And it came so quickly she was able to have it in her pretty little hand for class. Eloise saved the day!

We love Eloise and we love pirates. A very cute story.

My daughter read through all the Eloise Level 1 series of readers a month ago, and we revisited them recently because she told me she missed stories about Eloise! Well, the actual collection of Eloise stories (not the early readers) are still beyond my five-and-a-half year old's reading ability, but these make for great entertainment and revision!

Doesn't really capture Eloise's personality like the originals, and doesn't cover the back story of why Eloise is living at the Plaza Hotel, but I suppose we shouldn't be encouraging small children to put pet turtles down the mail slot. Good illustrations, held the attention of my 3 year-old grandson.

We have a grandaughter, that is pirate material not princess material.Thank you for giving us a book that shares the idea, that it is okay not to be a princess. We are reading it to her now, and the way it is formatted will make it so easy for it to be one of her first and favorite books to start reading with.
